Dear friends,
In his book Wishful Thinking, writer and theologian Frederick Buechner writes:
“To confess your sins to God is not to tell [God] anything [God] doesn't already know. Until you confess them, however, they are the abyss between you. When you confess them, they become the bridge.”
As you pray regularly and cultivate interior knowledge, you will likely see your shortcomings. It’s not easy or comfortable to contemplate our sins, but how can we allow the Lord to make us new if we aren’t familiar with our own failings?
Rest assured that God sees and accepts you fully. Let your prayers of confession, and your time in meditative prayer, be a bridge between you and your loving God.
We’re curious… do you confess your sins to God regularly? This is something that is often so easy to forget. What habits or practices do you lean on to help you with this spiritual discipline?
We hope you have a great weekend.
Grace and peace,
Ope and Rebecca
